With not-for-profit and commercial sector experience most recently within member organisations, Ruth is at her best when creating opportunities to build relationships and showcase successes.
Away from the workplace, Ruth is an accomplished pianist, avid tennis watcher and sports enthusiast.

Karen joined the team in November 2013. She lives locally in Cockle Bay and has watched the growth of this industrial area with great interest.
Her experience includes 15 years with a publicly listed IT company, latterly in senior management roles. Karen is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the organisation and crime prevention.

Shanu joined Business East Tamaki in July 2017 to take care of our marketing, communications & events delivery, including a new focus on social media.
Shanu returned from the UK in 2017 after having lived and worked there for 11 years. She has over 15 years of marketing (predominantly digital) experience across different industries. She lives locally and outside of work, she loves to travel and spend quality time with family & friends.

Julie joined the Business East Tamaki team in September 2018. With a strong admin, accounts and customer service background Julie is well placed to ensure our member database is kept current and that new businesses to the area are contacted and welcomed. She also carries out our marketing, communication and events related administration.
Julie, originally a local, moved out to Pukekohe with her family in 2020 for a lifestyle change. She enjoys all things home DIY, playing social netball with the local team and exercising the family's two dogs.
