The COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights) has now ended.

From 13 September you must still:

  • isolate for 7 days if you have COVID-19
  • wear a face mask in certain healthcare facilities, such as hospitals.

    *Some places may continue to ask people to wear a face mask.

Household Contacts no longer need to isolate for 7 days. If you live with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, it is recommended you:

  • take a rapid antigen test (RAT) each day for 5 days
  • avoid contact with the person who has COVID-19.

What Financial Support Is Available?

If your income has been affected by COVID-19, you may be able to apply for financial support.

Are you eligible for the COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme?

The COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme is available to employers, including self-employed people, to help pay their employees who must self-isolate because of COVID-19 and can't work at home during that period.

This includes employees (and self employed people) who either:

  • have COVID-19
  • are caring for a dependant who has COVID-19, or
  • are at risk of severe illness from COVID-19, or has a household member who is, and have been advised by a medical practitioner to self-isolate.

How can we support the wellbeing of our rangatahi, whanau, friends and colleagues?

Additional funding was announced to further support our young Kiwis in the Youth Mental Wellbeing Fund. Lockdowns are particularly challenging times for young people, so this fund will provide grants of up to $100,000 to organisations and programmes supporting young New Zealanders through COVID.

Help is there for everyone, at any time, no matter where you live or what age you are.

- Call or text 1737, 24 hours a day, seven days a week to speak with a trained counsellor for free

- Young people can also contact Youthline by calling 0800 376 633 or text 234 for free

- Call 0800 559 009 for food support via MSD

- Our Pacific community can receive mental health support on 0800 652 535
